        Balance is essential to the viability of any system.   Healthcare balance is challenged by new technologies and the human experience of increased access to information.  The over riding goal of all these innovations is to improve patient outcomes by improving process.  As providers struggle to deal with a new paradigm in medical record keeping,  they are still dealing with a connection to a paper world.  In the case of ancillary services for example, data must be transcribed to a paper form before service begins.  This frustrates the provider,  pressures the vendor, and patient care is delayed .  This increases the potential for patient harm, inaccurate data, liability, and higher cost.        Medical Data - Sources, Uses and Storage
